Lazy days of summer

Nothing much is new around our household. We've been spending almost every afternoon out at my mom and dad's on the lake. The kids love the water. Greta stays in the shallow water and the boys put lifejackets on and venture out deeper. They all love to feed the fish... we've always said that the sunfish in my parent's lake are the best fed fish in Minnesota! We feed them leftover bread, cake, corn, and anything else that's around. The boys usually get the net out and try to catch a few, then let them go and try to catch them again. Once in awhile they'll catch a painter turtle... then let it go and watch how fast it swims away.

I love these summer days. Even in the hottest weather it's pretty comfortable by the lake and the kids can run free and play until they drop.

  1. How relaxing! It reminds me of our annual 4th of July family get togethers at Joel's parents cabin. We are heading up for a week this year to enjoy their lake and to see family we haven't seen in a long time. Everyone is coming home this year - we are excited!
